SoftScan Privacy Policy

Printvenlig version

SoftScan ("SoftScan") are pleased to welcome you as Visitors ("Visitors") to our internet world wide website (the "Site") as a possible customer of our products and services. As a leader in internet security technology, SoftScan understand your desire to protect personal information online. This privacy policy (the "Policy") describes our practices regarding the privacy of information that SoftScan collect through the Site which is hosted and operated from Denmark.

SoftScan encourage Visitors to read this Policy before using the Site. By using the Site, Visitors agree to the terms and conditions of this Policy. If Visitors do not agree to the terms and conditions of this Policy, please do not use the Site.

SoftScan will not track, collect or use personal information, except as disclosed in this Privacy Policy or as Visitors specifically authorise. Whenever Visitors give SoftScan personal data, Visitors are consenting to its collection, opt-in, and use in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

The headings in this Privacy Policy are inserted for convenience only and may not be relied on as interpretation data.

1. Information gathering

SoftScan gather two basic types of information: "Personal Information," information from which an individual can be identified, and "Aggregate Information," from which an individual can not be identified.

1.1. Aggregate Information.
When Visitors visit and interact with the Site, SoftScan and third parties with whom SoftScan have contracted to provide services to SoftScan may collect anonymous information from three sources: server log files, cookies, and "pixel tags".

1.1.1. Server Log Files
Visitors Internet Protocol (IP) address is an identifying number that is assigned to Visitors' connection to the internet by the applicable Internet Service Provider (ISP). This number is identified and logged automatically in SoftScan's server log files, whenever Visitors visit the Site, along with the time(s) of Visitors' visit(s) and the page(s) that Visitors visited. SoftScan may use the IP addresses of all such Visitors to calculate Site usage levels, to help diagnose problems with the Site's servers, and to administer the Site. SoftScan may also use IP addresses to communicate or to block access by Visitors who fail to comply with SoftScan's Terms and Conditions. Collecting IP addresses is standard practice on the internet and is carried out automatically by many websites.

1.1.2. Cookies
Cookies are data that a web server transfers to an individual's computer for recordkeeping purposes. Cookies are an industry standard used by most websites, and help facilitate users' ongoing access to and use of a particular website. Cookies do not cause damage to Visitors' computer systems or files, and only the website that transferred a particular cookie to Visitors can read, modify or delete such cookies. If Visitors do not want information collected through the use of cookies, there are simple procedures in most browsers that allow Visitors to delete existing cookies, to automatically decline cookies, or to be given the choice of declining or accepting the transfer of particular cookies to your computer. Visitors should note, however, that declining cookies may make it difficult or impossible for Visitors to use portions of the Site.

1.2. Personal Information
Visitors are not ordinarily required to register or provide Personal Information in order to access the SoftScan Site although certain functionalities may require registration. SoftScan may collect Personal Information from Visitors only when Visitors provide it voluntarily to SoftScan - for example, in contacting SoftScan through the Site, answering surveys and polls, signing up for email updates and announcements concerning our products and services. Personal Information may include your contact information (such as your name, postal address, telephone numbers and/or email address).

2. Use and Disclosure of Information

2.1. Personal Information
