Symantec has announced the acquisition of SoftScan. This is exciting news and goes to validate SoftScan's leadership and success in the Nordic region. Symantec recognized the market leadership and regional expertise that the SoftScan team has built in the Nordic region and is looking forward to joining forces to extend this success further. Symantec sees the further potential of the SaaS model for security services, and, following the close of the acquisition, will integrate the SoftScan team with the Symantec Hosted Services group - a dedicated SaaS product group that was formed a year ago as a result of the acquisition of MessageLabs.
